Don't Put The Cart Before The Horse!

In order to deliver initial traction and growth, we need to have a few simple elements in place before we start to build out our strategies and execute.

These include:

1: Branding

2: Landing Page

3: Knowledge of our Target Audience

4: Social Proof via Backers, Advisors, or Team Members

Without these elements, meaningful growth and traction are very difficult to achieve. From here we look at forming a channel and content strategy, building up our content base with consistent posting, leveraging partners and existing followers, and deciding on key metrics for success.

1)Channel Strategy:Before diving into marketing efforts, it's important to first identify the target audience and determine where they can be found. Whether the project is B2C, B2B, B2B2C, or a niche product, a targeted approach is essential. With limited bandwidth and budget in early-stage projects, it's crucial to focus on only a few channels at a time.

2)Content Strategy:A well-planned content strategy is crucial to building social proof and gaining traction. Focus on quality over quantity, and find a realistic cadence for posting that is feasible in terms of time spent. The content should initially emphasize both benefits and social proof, and can always be broken down into smaller pieces for distribution across various channels.

3)Build up the Content Base with Consistent Posting:Building a consistent content base is non-negotiable. Consistent posting helps to build credibility and establish a brand's authority in the industry. Ensure that the content aligns with the overall content strategy, and prioritize quality over quantity.

4)Leverage:Leverage existing partners, investors, and team members to build social proof and establish credibility. Collaborating with them can help to create more engaging content and elevate the project's visibility. We also need to leverage on incentives, and always be asking ourselves "What's in it for the lead?"

5) A Decision on What Success Looks Like:Determining what constitutes success is essential to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities. This involves defining key metrics that will push the project towards its goals. Are the objectives to generate waitlist sign-ups, fill a testnet, build community sale applications, grow social channels, or find those first few superfans? Once these objectives are established, it is easier to align marketing activities with the goals and focus on driving conversions. As we move forward after putting the building blocks in place we will need to accelerate growth via additional exposure channels, such as KOLs or influencers, paid ads, PR etc.

However, it's important to ensure that these marketing efforts are generating conversions at the highest possible rate to justify the spend and that can only happen when we have ticked off all the boxes above. Thanks for reading and if you found the article useful please leave a like and comment your thoughts! If you're looking for advice or support on marketing in web3, at AltCoinEdge, we specialize in growing REAL communities with authentic community-building strategies. We offer expertise in: -Web3 marketing-Content-Strategy-Social media-Community management-Growth-PR-Exposure channels-Biz devFeel free to DM me Ian Byrne , or book a virtual coffee here:https://calendly.com/ian-altcoin-edge/group-meetAll the best on your web3 journey!Cheers!
